Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Lockd iOS application (the “App”) provided by Lockd(“Lockd”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. License to use the App
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use the App on Apple devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the App, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
2. Subscriptions, free trial & billing
The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (“Lockd Pro”), which may include a free trial (for example, a 7-day Pro trial). The following terms apply:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase or at the end of any free trial.
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renew, in your App Store account settings at any time.
- If you don’t use the full free trial period, any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Prices may change; we will provide notice as required, and changes apply to future billing periods.
- Purchases are processed by Apple, and refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store terms. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements.
3. Important safety information
Haptic pickup alerts are vibration, not electricity.Lockd’s focus features use your device’s built-in haptic engine and sound to discourage phone pickups. The App does not produce an electrical shock.
Lockd is a productivity tool. It is not a medical, health, or safety device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. You use it at your own discretion. In particular:
- You can adjust haptic intensity (or disable it) in the App’s settings. If you have any condition that makes you sensitive to vibration or sound, choose settings accordingly or do not use those features.
- Do not start or interact with sessions while driving or operating machinery, and place your device somewhere safe during a session.
4. App blocking & device features
App blocking relies on Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls framework and on permissions you grant (such as motion access and notifications). These features may not block every app or scenario, may be affected by iOS updates or settings, and are provided on a best-effort basis. You remain responsible for your own device and for ensuring you can access essential functions (such as emergency calls, which iOS allows regardless of restrictions). Lockd is not responsible for any consequences of relying on blocking or pickup detection.
5. No guarantee of results
Lockd is a tool to help you focus. We do not guarantee any particular outcome, such as improved productivity, grades, habits, or reduced phone usage. Results depend on you.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
- Interfere with or disrupt the App or its security features;
- Attempt to circumvent subscription or licensing controls; or
- Use the App in any way that could harm us or other users.
7. Intellectual property
The App, including its design, branding, text, graphics, and software, is owned by Lockd and protected by intellectual-property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or content except the limited license described above.
8. Third-party services
The App relies on third-party services, including Apple (App Store, Screen Time, and device frameworks), RevenueCat (subscription management),PostHog (product analytics), and Supabase(analytics and feedback features). Your use of those services is also subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
9. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that defects will be corrected.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LOCKD AND ITS PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (OR USD $0 IF YOU USE ONLY THE FREE VERSION). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Lockd harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the App or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it. We may suspend or terminate your access to the App or its features if you violate these Terms. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as disclaimers and limitations of liability) will survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by applicable law, without limiting any mandatory consumer protections or rights that apply in your place of residence.
